Our mission has been inspired by the gargantuan services being carried out by the Palliative Care Unit of the Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai the nation’s premier Cancer care institution. Palliative care affirms life, strives to improve the Quality of Life for these individuals and make their last days as comfortable as possible. The Holistic team from TMC comprises of the Doctors/Nurses/Social Workers/Counselors’ who aim to look after their physical, emotional, practical and spiritual needs, assuring that they live and die with dignity.
Our foundation’s endeavor is to contribute ourselves and also to plug in sponsors to support some of these families with limited financial resources by providing them monthly Rations, arranging funds for continuance of their children’s education and for any other medical emergency that may suddenly arise for the patient from time to time, in co-ordination with the Palliative Care Unit of TMC, Mumbai. As stewards of limited resources, we seek to maximize the benefits derived from our benevolent donors so that they have an impact beyond the services we can fund directly.
Our Foundation is also currently supporting Bai Jerbai Wadia Children’s Hospital, Parel, Mumbai which caters to treatment of Children from extremely poor families. The Foundation finds that although the hospital provides medical treatment at a subsidized cost, the patient’s families still struggle to cope with the day to day expenses. We have therefore embarked on a project to provide the Children each month with hampers of assorted snacks and their parents with a box of Toiletries that includes Soap, Hair Oil, Toothpaste, Hand towel & Comb for their daily use while staying at the hospital.
The Foundation also donates substantial boxes of Surgical Gloves required for various surgeries conducted in the hospital every month. It also sponsors miscellaneous items ( Viz Refrigerator, Tower fans in the Burns department, Glucometers etc. ) as required by the hospital from time to time, on request.
The Foundation believes in the simple theory that if we can help even a small portion of the needy, we can have more impact than any mega-donor. Support to these families, who are deprived of even the basic necessities in life, can be given by simple contributions from caring people like you.
